The first Alberta Stick Curling Bonspiel this season was held at the Ellerslie Curling Club on Nov 1, 2025.

This was the Ron Currie Stick Bonspiel.  Twenty-two teams competed and each team played three games.  Three teams went undefeated in the event. Susan Schofield and Garnett Rooney, Ellerslie, Ian Bennett and Colleen Hemsley, Ellerslie, and Randy Olson and Stacy Burzminski, St. Albert.

The 2nd event on the tour was held Saturday, Nov 8th at the St. Albert Curling Club.  This was the Ruby Olson Memorial Stick Bonspiel with 24 teams competing in this “Stakes” spiel. Teams were divided into groups of 4.  Five teams went undefeated – Ken Petteplace/Doug Gill, Grande Prairie,   Cindy Bobowik/Debbie Kalynuk of St. Albert, Ed Cruse/Brian Hunt of St. Albert. Lexi Johns/Ava Johns of St. Albert, and Rick and Gloria McKague of Crestwood.

The 3rd event was held Saturday, Dec 6th at the Crestwood Curling Club.  24 teams competed in this 4 event bonspiel. Randy Olson and Stacy Burzminski of St. Albert defeated Jeff Kaufman and Danny Shank of St. Albert in the A event final.  Stan Humphries and Kevin Gunderson of Crestwood and John Cabaj and Michael Chukka of Saville lost in the semifinals. 

The 4th event was held on Saturday, Dec 13th at the Spruce Grove Curling Centre. 24 teams competed in this event divided into three pools of Men, Women, and Mixed teams.  Randy Olson and Stacy Burzminski of St. Albert won the Men’s pool. John Cabaj and Cindy Laporte won the Mixed pool. Gloria McKague and Karen Summers won the Women’s pool.

The 5th event was held on Monday, December 29th at the Legal Curling club.  Sixteen teams competed in the  “Stakes” spiel. Three teams went undefeated in the event. Randy Olson, Stacy Burzminski of St. Albert, Reg and Suzanne Reinhardt, Crestwood  and Dan Shank and Pauline Ruxton of Westlock.
